Once Upon a Time Project Week 1 Check in
It's been one week since the Once Upon A Time Project began. How's everyones writing going?? I have an update on the Journal status. The Charlotte Bronte Manuscript Journal has been shipped so this will replace the Edgar Allan Poe Journal in the 1st Prize pack.
Okay so I thought I would brave it and post a few paragraphs of the writing that I started working on last night. Here it is:
I was cursed, no other way to look at it. While other kids grew out of the night light phase, I had just turned 15 and couldn't sleep without my lamp, bedroom light and hall light on if I could get away with it. Shadows, more importantly what lurked in the shadows frightened the bejesus out of me. Always has.
I was wrongly diagnosed with night terrors when I was six. By age ten it was hallucinations I was treated for. Funny though, with all the tablets I'd taken for my supposed illness, they never made the moving shadows and things with teeth disappear. If anything they got progressively worse until I convinced my parents of buying me a dog to keep me company.
Shandy was a beautiful bitzer. Bits of everything the dog seller had said. Not once had I ever dreamed of getting a full night sleep without waking up screaming and covered in blood, but when Shandy moved in and was allowed to sleep on my bed I'd had my first full night sleep in years. To Be Cont'd

Ok that's the beginning of my story. Hope everyone is having fun with theirs. Let me know how you all are going, I'd love to hear about it.
Also, don't forget check back at my blog tomorrow for Author(and Illustrator) Trevor Salter interview and book giveaway.
Thanks guys
