Synopsis
Whenever Jem meets someone new, no matter who, as soon as she looks into their eyes, a number pops into her head. That number is a date: the date they will die.

Burdened with such an awful awareness, Jem avoids relationships. Until she meets Spider, another outsider, and takes a chance. But while they’re waiting to ride the Eye Ferris
wheel, Jem notices that all the other tourists in line flash the same number. Today’s number. Today’s date. Terrorists are going to attack London. Jem’s world is about to explode!

My Thoughts
I came across this book while looking at other blogs and reading the synopsis had me intrigued.  I wanted to know what was going to happen and what would someone like her do with that sort of information.

I'll be honest here, I liked it but I didn't love it.  I kind of expected this story to maybe give  a bit more from the sound of the synopsis.  It felt like the whole "Numbers" curse that Jem has was pushing the story along but it also seemed to take a backseat as other subplots took over.  If that makes sense.

I enjoy the interactions between Jem and Spider, definitely an unlikely duo.  I read the whole book in one sitting but the ending left me feeling... well.. is that it?

I'm still tossing up whether I will get Numbers 2.  I haven't read the synopsis of it yet but I won't be rushing out to buy this just yet..

  3. I think this is one of those that the blurb gives you different expectations than what the story turns out to be. You did a great review!
